which is 500 ,BCE old. Being rooted to ancient times Hyderabad is also one of the biggest cities in India( 6th Biggest City) and biggest in South India. When one talks of roaming and visiting places in city it provides a great variety of destination including archaeological, natural to contemporary world beauties. List starts with Charminar, Hussain Sagar Lake, Golkonda Fort, Salarjung Museum and list goes on. But I'll take you to place which has been explore by very less no of people and even residents know less about the place. And the place is OSMAN SAGAR.
Its basically a reservoir based on Musi river, buit in 1920 , for providing drinking water source for Hyderabad, and also saving the city from floods, on the lines of which Hyderabad suffered in 1908. It was during the reign of The Last Nizam of Hyderabad,Osman Ali Khan, hence the name.A princely guest house called Sagar Mahal, overlooking the lake, now a heritage building, was built as a summer resort of the last Nizam. It is located on the banks and has the best view of the lake. Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department, currently, runs the place as a resort. The breeze of the lake is very pleasant, and has been popular with the locals since The Nizam's time.

It is a popular tourist destination, especially after the rainy season when the reservoir is full, and its parks, resorts, amusement park are a major attraction. This lake had served drinking water for Hyderabad city but due to increase in population it is not sufficient for water supply to Hyderabad city and so now it is used for public recreation.

Personally the way to Osman Sagar is more beautiful than the spot. It's a must place for Students and Bachelors. Couples will also find the place good with an exception of Gangs of Guys hanging around with penetrating eyes.There are two roads leading to the venue from Hyderabad. Since the lake is at the outskirts of the city, you need to reach Gachibowli. From there you can go by two different ways:
1. via NH-7( Hyderabad- Bangalore Highway). You need to take this highway and follow the boards to reach the Place. Total Distance: 25 Km from Hi-Tech City, Hyderabad.
2. via Indiranagar, ISB, Finance District. I would suggest to take this path. More than being simple is more adventurous. Bike is more preferable. But if you have alcoholic traits don't suppress your instincts take a Car and surge towards the venue. Trust me is one of the best place to have beer. Total Distance: 20 km from Hi-tech City Hyderabad.
